Come experience the beauty of the polar night, winter's heavy snows, glowing snowdrifts, spring light, the midnight sun, autumn's color spectacle, and stay at Villa Kaamos!
Villa Kaamos is a unique cabin at the foot of the Ylläs fell in Äkäslompolo. The semi-detached cabin was completed in September 2023. The area is 84 m2 + loft. Thanks to the large windows, nature is strongly present. You can watch from behind the pane windows as nature bursts into bloom or when the autumn wind strips the leaves away, northern lights, pure white snowdrifts, snow-laden trees, winter's color palette and autumn colors. Behind the window, you might also see reindeer, a fox, a Siberian jay, and other forest animals. Lapland's nature grabs a person with all senses. It leaves no one cold.
Villa Kaamos has a great level of equipment. Sleeping places can be found for eight. Two bedrooms downstairs and a loft. The loft has beds for four. The kitchen and living room have enough space for a larger group.
After an active day, you can heat up the outdoor sauna and enjoy the gentle steam of the wood fired stove and relax. The day's chores melt away as if by themselves when a ladleful of water hisses onto the hot stove. The sauna's dressing room has a drying cabinet. Fiber network makes remote work easier. There is a carport and an electric charging station next to the entrance.
You are warmly welcome to vacation at Villa Kaamos, choose your own from the eight seasons!
Ylläs and its seven fells offer great opportunities for outdoor activities of various kinds. Ylläs has something for every season, of which there are at least eight in Lapland. The polar night, midwinter, crusty snow, spring, nightless night, harvest time, and autumn colors offer everyone a chance to enjoy Lapland in their own way. The Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas is less than a kilometer away from Villa Kaamos. Well-marked hiking trails to the national park start from Kellokas, and the visitor center provides guidance and the best tips for the area's trails.
Ylläs is Finland's largest ski resort with the longest slopes and the largest elevation differences. Yllästunturi is located between two Lappish villages, and during a day of skiing, you can ski in the slope areas of both villages. In summer, Yllästunturi transforms into a Bike Park. Ylläs also has Finland's most extensive network of cross-country ski tracks. Villa Kaamos is just a few hundred meters' walk from the nearest ski track.
